3 New Carlton Landing Vacation Rentals

& Why Their Owners Bought Here

If you’ve been looking for a Carlton Landing vacation rental, you may have noticed something: there are a lot of really beautiful homes to choose from.

But what I love about Carlton Landing is that they aren’t all the same.

Some homes are perfect for a couple or a small family. Some are made for big family gatherings, girls’ weekends, or bringing grandparents along. Some are tucked away on a quiet street, while others put you right next to a pool or park.

And sometimes, when you stay in a place you love enough times, you start thinking…

“What if we just bought a house here?”

That was actually part of the story behind all three of the homes I’m sharing with you today.

For this episode of the All Things Carlton Landing podcast, I talked with the owners of Cedar House, Willow House, and Happy Harbor — three newer vacation rental homes in Carlton Landing, Oklahoma.

Each owner came to Carlton Landing a little differently, but all three fell in love with the community first as visitors and eventually found themselves becoming homeowners.

And their stories are a really good reminder that there isn't one “right” kind of house in Carlton Landing. There are homes for different families, different seasons of life, different needs — and different budgets.

Cedar House: A Spacious Carlton Landing Vacation Home for Groups

Cedar House is owned by Kaci Trojan and her family, who have a long history with Lake Eufaula.

Kaci grew up spending time at the lake — camping, boating, staying on houseboats — and watched Carlton Landing develop from the very beginning.

Her family eventually started renting in Carlton Landing and loved the community feel, the walkability, the pools, the events, and all of the things that make it easy to spend time together without having to plan every minute of your vacation.

After looking at several homes and even making offers on a few, they finally purchased Cedar House in June 2026.

And it's easy to see why this particular home caught their attention.

Cedar House has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and comfortably sleeps 12 people. It has two master bedrooms, including a first-floor master, a bedroom with two full beds, and a six-person bunk room.

That first-floor master was particularly important to Kaci because they wanted a home that could work for multiple generations — including grandparents who may not want to navigate stairs.

The house also has a large, open living space and entertainer's kitchen, which makes it especially appealing for larger groups who want to spend time together.

Think:

  • Family reunions

  • Girls’ weekends

  • Mahjong weekends

  • Bachelorette weekends

  • Multi-family vacations

  • Extended family trips

One of the things Kaci loves about Cedar House is that the exterior has a cozy, cottage-like feel with rustic cedar shingles, but when you walk inside, it opens up into a surprisingly large gathering space.

And then there are the porches.

Cedar House has two front porches, including what Kaci calls the “coffee porch” — the kind of place that just makes you want to sit down in the morning and stay awhile.

The house also has two covered parking spaces, which is a particularly nice feature in a community designed to be so walkable.

And Cedar House has another unique perk: the owners are part of the Admiral Club boat club and plan to make that membership available to their vacation rental guests as an add-on, subject to their rules and availability.

If you're looking for a large vacation rental in Carlton Landing, Cedar House is definitely one to put on your list.

Willow House: A Smaller Carlton Landing Rental That Makes a Lot of Sense

Willow House has a very different feel from Cedar House — and that's exactly the point.

Owner Cecily Hunter discovered Carlton Landing almost accidentally.

She and her husband had heard about the community, but she didn't actually visit until May 2024. She was eight months pregnant at the time, and after a difficult season for their family, they decided they needed to get away somewhere close to home.

They booked a dog-friendly Airbnb in Carlton Landing and went.

They stayed for two nights.

And they loved it.

Less than a year later, they bought a house.

What makes Willow House especially interesting is its size.

It's a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home that's just under 1,000 square feet, and it can sleep up to seven people.

That smaller footprint was actually one of the things that attracted Cecily and her husband to the house.

Not everyone needs — or wants — a large vacation home.

Maybe you're a couple who wants a weekend away.

Maybe you're a young family.

Maybe you're bringing another small family along and want a home where you can share the cost without needing a massive house.

Willow House gives you that option.

The downstairs has a king suite, while upstairs there are two queen beds and two twin trundles, along with it’s own bathroom. The home also has two porches, including a screened porch that essentially becomes an extension of the living space.

And because the owners have a young child themselves, they have intentionally stocked the house with families in mind.

There are toys, games, sports equipment, toddler-friendly items, booster seats and even a projector screen upstairs for movie nights.

I loved something Cecily said in our conversation: she wants to be ten steps ahead of her guests so they don't arrive and immediately realize they need to run to the store for everything their kids need.

If you're searching for a family-friendly vacation rental in Carlton Landing, Willow House is a great example of how you don't have to rent a huge home to have a really comfortable family vacation.

Happy Harbor: A Family-Friendly Home Near the Pool and Park

The third home we talked about is Happy Harbor, owned by Terra Fritsche and her family.

Terra lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and her family first discovered Carlton Landing in the fall of 2024.

And their first visit happened during a particularly difficult season.

Terra was recovering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and her family needed somewhere close enough to home where they could simply get away and spend some time together.

They chose Carlton Landing.

And their first visit happened to be Halloween weekend.

They had no idea how much was going on that weekend, but they quickly discovered all of the family activities, events and things happening throughout the community.

It became a really happy part of a difficult season for their family — which is where the name Happy Harbor came from.

I love that story because it really captures something about Carlton Landing. It's a place where families can come and simply be together.

Happy Harbor is located near the Tower Court pool, along the pathway connecting the pool and Redbud Park. For a family with young kids, that location is hard to beat.

The home has three bedrooms + a loft and sleeps 10 comfortably.

There's a king master downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, one of which is a bunk room that can sleep four. There’s also a loft area with a pullout sofa that can be used as additional sleeping space.

There's also a screened-in porch with a large swing and dining table, plus an upper deck that offers views through the trees.

And then there's the location.

You're close to the pool, Redbud Park and the sports courts, but the home itself is tucked back a little bit, giving it a more private feel.

For families looking for a Carlton Landing vacation rental near the pool and park, Happy Harbor is worth checking out.

What These Three Carlton Landing Vacation Rentals Have in Common

Even though these three houses are very different, I think that's what makes them such a fun group to look at together.

Cedar House is spacious and designed for larger groups.

Willow House is smaller and cozy, making it a great option for a couple, a medium sized family or two smaller families traveling together.

Happy Harbor offers a family-friendly layout with easy access to the pool and park.

And that really is one of the things I love about Carlton Landing.

You don't have to fit a certain mold to enjoy it.

You can come with your toddler.

You can bring your teenagers.

You can bring grandparents.

You can come with your girlfriends.

You can come as a couple.

You can fill a big house with your extended family — or choose something smaller and cozy.

There are options.

And if you're someone who has visited Carlton Landing and started wondering whether you might eventually want to buy a vacation home in Carlton Landing, I think these stories are worth paying attention to, too.

None of these owners started with the exact same circumstances or the exact same vision for their home.

They simply found something that worked for their family.
